A talented AV Technician is required to work with internal stakeholders and external vendors to build, support and upgrade Audio Visual Systems with a leading university in Melbourne. You will monitor and troubleshoot all equipment on campus (plugins, remotes, projectors etc) ensuring all is fully functional with consistent user requirements across different locations on campus.  In addition to this you will also be required to assist with event coordination from an AV stand point, as well, as help deliver projects.

Although only 3 months initially this is a long-term role with potential conversion to perm or ongoing contract opportunities

  • Assessing room spaces with regards to current AV Standards
  • Documenting Stakeholder briefs and RFQs
  • Review of shop drawings and assist in technical advice & decisions
  • Provide solutions across the campus  number of sites based in Melbourne
  • Respond to a variety of tickets and jobs and juggle a range of different and changing daily priorities, while also delivering larger jobs in the background
  • Help ensure that the AV equipment in hundreds of lectures halls, classrooms, meetings rooms and event areas are fully functional and meet changing requirements
Required Skills
  • Solid working knowledge of audio visual systems
  • Electronics experience and knowledge essential, either formal or self-taught
  • Ability to build effective relationships in a collaborative and engaging manner
  • Basic programming knowledge in C/C++ in order to learn AMX programming
  • Self-driven, responsible, motivated, excellent time management
  • Driver's license to travel between campuses using a university vehicle
