We are currently looking for a Business Analyst for a large government department operating in the healthcare sector. This role is based in Herston, and will initially be a 3 + 3 month contract. The Business Analyst will preferably have previous healthcare experience (desired) and will be tasked with providing requirements gathering, process modelling and analysis skills for 3 projects.

  • Engage relevant stakeholders to build trusting, influencing and collaborative relationships supporting the gathering of relevant business information.
  • Prepare and conduct workshops for requirements gathering and process modelling;
  • Document requirements and processes using endorsed tools and templates and ensuring traceability of requirements throughout the project lifecycle;
  • Undertake benefit investigation and analysis including quantifying of benefit metrics and measures if appropriate;
  • Undertake gap analysis and scoring of the 2 nominated system solutions and provide recommendations based on the analysis outcomes; and
  • Participate in the preparation of the Invitation to Offer documents and subsequent evaluation of vendor responses.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing business analysis activities on large scale complex IM/ICT program/projects, preferably in the health care industry.
  • Demonstrated experience leading business process and system modelling activities for large scale complex organisations, preferably using Business Process Modelling Notation 
  • Knowledge in, and an ability to provide sound advice and recommendations on, the application of appropriate business analysis techniques, methodologies and tools, preferably aligned with Business Analysis Body of Knowledge  (BABOK). 
  • Proven high level negotiation, consultation facilitation and effective written and oral communications skills for use in a complex program/project environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and mentor a multi-disciplinary project team.
