Business Analyst

A large government department is seeking skilled and experienced individuals to engage in a contract role based in Canberra. There are multiple openings available for contractors to engage in an initial short-term contract, with multiple options to extend for long-term positions. This department has an exciting portfolio of ICT projects to deliver, including the implementation of cloud platforms, integrated customer relationship management, and service delivery solutions and whole-of-government web portals.

Selection Criteria Includes:
  • Experience working in an iterative development environment with a "just in time" focus on detailed business specification
  • Experience working on user-centric design and development initiatives
  • Experience working in an Agile working environment, with an understanding of the Agile frameworks - Scrum and Kanban and associated practices and principles
  • Demonstrated ability to produce business-focussed documentation, including business processes, system use cases, functional specifications, user stories and process flows
  • Experience in operating effectively within a small multi-disciplinary team of business analysts, developers, testers, user experience professionals and architects using excellent verbal and written communications skills combined with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to assume the role of custodian of product requirements, facilitating and maintaining the whole of team efforts to build and maintain multiple product backlogs
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines
  • The ability to coordinate and facilitate team workshops and meetings for the purposes of requirements elicitation and decomposition
  • Demonstrated ability and experience working in an agile team environment
