Working with this key government department you'll be involved in providing options relating to new ICT capabilities recommended for implementation. 
With a strong technical background in applications, businss systems or workflow based systems you'll be working closely with the existing team and stakeholders to review existing documentation, manage workshops and further requirements gathering before the appointment of an external vendor for implementation

Your Responsibilities: 
  • Confirm alignment of existing technical specifications with defined business requirements, as well as assisting with system testing and coordination of UAT
  • Identify, evaluate and recommend options to resolve business problems or capitalise on business opportunities that may include process improvement, systems enhancement, user training, software changes, and/or integration opportunities.
  • Undertake information gathering and analysis, providing information to assist with Organisational performance improvements and to capture and disseminate technical and business information.
  • Facilitate open communication and discussion between stakeholders, using feedback to assess and promote understanding of need for future changes in services, products and systems.
  • Effectively liaise with business and technical stakeholders to identify and validate ICT business requirements.
  • Resolve conflicting requirements and work with the business representatives to determine priorities and validate and justify the requirements against the project business outcomes.
  • Provide timely, strategic and expert advice to the project manager and business representatives regarding system requirements, information requirements, business impacts, scope management and project risks.
  • Coordinate business analysis work with Organisational change management activities to ensure the business are supported through the change process and the business changes align with departmental policies and procedures.

Your Experience: 
  • Minimum six years' experience as a Business Analyst with a technical background in a project environment within Government
  • Knowledge and experience in business transformation preferably using Lean methodologies and best practices
  • Knowledge and experience in Agile project and program delivery and Agile requirements analysis and definition (e.g. MoSCoW analysis method, timeboxing)
  • Proven track record to quickly understand the key value drivers of a business, how they impact the scope and approach of program / project definition
  • Possess commercial acumen with ability to tailor solutions to enhance effectiveness and to identify valuable client development opportunities
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills particularly in conceptualisation and communication of reporting, analysis, collection and technical matters to a range of audiences
  • Excellent written skills, with a focus on clear presentation in plain English.
  • Experience in developing project documentation and/or technical specifications
  • Experience within the development of business process mapping, current and future states using Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN)
