This critical government department is about to commence on a major project to deliver improved results from their core business systems. The project will deliver a more scalable platform for users across departments, a large scale improvement to current application architecture and integration capabilities. This is one of their critical applications and will require a long term approach to delivering a next generation platform for the department.

  • Gather, develop and document business requirements to support process improvements and solution design
  • Engage internal and external stakeholders to assess and validate business requirements for the purpose of documenting systems requirements
  • Participate in planning and design discussions to ensure business requirements are adhered to and are relevant to scopes of work and stakeholder's expectations
  • Use appropriate tools and techniques to document current processing cycles, estimate transaction volumes, process variations and advice on process rationalisation
  • Analyse processes in detail, identify potential process improvements and provide recommendations on solutions
  • Provide detailed recommendations based on analysis of process reviews / outputs
  • Develop and apply tools and processes to estimate the total costs of each major option
  • Document existing and new business processes in accordance with agreed standards (BPMN 2.0)

Your Experience: 
  • High level of written communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex system and process concepts which both business users and IT technical staff can interpret;
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Strong facilitation and elicitation skills to lead business in definition of desired outcomes, business processes and requirements;
  • Ability to use Business Process Modelling Notation 2.0;
  • Ability to cultivate productive working relationships and communicate with influence;
  • Ability to conceptualise broader business issues, structures and operations;
  • Ability to perform cost benefit analysis;
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other business analysts and program resources as part of a coherent and high performing program team, and also individually;
  • Significant Business Analyst experience in an IT environment with strong skills in the development of requirements and specifications according to industry standards.
  • Understanding of broader business issues, structures and operations;
