My client, a large Tier 1 organisation, is looking for a Business Analyst (with Agile experience) to engage with their various stakeholders that service the technology services arm of their business to convert their ideas and requirements into development user stories.

This role requires excellent communication and analytical skills in order to effectively collaborate with business users, technology teams, and leadership in an Agile environment. 

This position works with stakeholders to elicit, understand, analyse, document, refine and communicate business needs so that business and/or technical delivery teams can build effective solutions. This requires a detailed understanding of internal customer needs, as well as business vision and strategy, to prioritize investment, business value and delivery. This role will serve as the business requirements and process specialist, engaging and managing the work of internal subject matter experts from the business. This role will also work with the business and IT delivery teams to identify and mitigate risks including business operational risks.

What You'll Do
  • Develop a deep understanding of the processes and functionality of the products in order to develop a vision for what process needs to be built
  • Work to identify needs, gather requirements, develop user stories, and propose business solutions
  • Work closely with the Product Owner and Software Development team to ensure user requirements, stories, and acceptance criteria are well understood
  • Continuously groom user stories in the backlog to ensure the appropriate level of detail is captured at the right time
  • Support the Product Owner in executing and maintaining the product roadmap
  • Train and educate clients/stakeholders on launches and assist the Product Owner as needed
  • Suggest areas for process and productivity improvements within the team
  • Other duties as assigned by management
About You
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-5 years of IT or analytical work experience in an agile environment
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, requirements gathering, user stories/journeys, and working alongside developers and architects
  • Solid analytical and creative problem solving skills with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the "big picture' view
  • Ability to work independently and remain flexible and organized throughout projects in a fast paced environment
  • The ability to establish/maintain high level of customer trust and confidence
  • Strong knowledge in Agile SDLC
This role is for an initial 12 months contract (with extensions) based in the CBD.
