Data Analyst (Asset Management)
Location: Central Coast

Talent International is working in partnership with a large government organisation to assist in sourcing an experienced 'Data Analyst' analyse, refine, rationalise, cleans and transport relevant data from legacy systems to the consolidated target Asset Management system.

Key accountabilities
  • Provide advice about the feasibility and suitability of proposed data migration solutions and business processes to optimize business performance.
  • Assist business standardise configuration data.
  • Drive business in gathering data from disparate systems into vendor requirements.
  • Work as conduit between several different business unit to understand interdependencies of data.
  • Identify and analyse any gaps in data and articulate in simple language, the context to which subsequent data models are formed.
  • Compare and interpret data definitions and data structures.
  • Relate datasets to front-end client based UI to accurately discern an application's data usage.
  • Hands on analysis and documentation of current data bases and systems to produce an organisational data dictionary / model.
  • Determine the current state of the organisation's data.
  • Determine if any data cleansing is required.
  • Determine and estimate the amount of effort required to move the data into the target system.
  • Produce a plan to transform existing data into the required format of the new environment.
  • Assist in the loading of data into new database structures.
Essential requirements
  • Approximately 5 years' experience working as a Data Analyst or Data Lead in an evolving organisation.
  • Ideally have Local Government or other public sector experience in a similar role.
  • Proven relational database management knowledge against Informix SQL syntax.
  • Proven ability to secure data and maintain confidentiality during all stages of a data handling phase.
  • Knowledge of Web Services technology and application of queries towards meeting various dataset requests.
  • Established analytical skills with a creative problem solving approach and the ability to be able to quickly see the big picture.
  • Proven effective documentation and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Web Services and application of queries towards meeting various dataset requirements.
  • Superior ability to understand and deconstruct complex data structures to determine a desired and efficient business focused outcome.
  • Proven ability to assess and interpret information to formulate recommendations and provide specialist advice to enable the organisation to achieve quality outcomes.
