The candidate will be responsible to prepares reports and supports the users in constructing reports from available data and business systems, to meet user needs in relation to queries and reports as required. This position plays a key role in supporting the system end users by enabling them to retrieve information from the various key business systems in a timely and meaningful fashion, by designing and delivering reports that meet their information needs. The position liaises with report end users throughout the entire report development process, from requirements gathering to end user acceptance testing.
  • Maintain organisation databases, including database maintenance and data workflow development, to ensure the databases continue to be accurate, consistent and current on an ongoing basis, in accordance with the Organisational Strategic Plan, customer service objectives and commercial imperatives.
  • Prepare reports and support database end users to meet user needs for reports and queries as required.
  • Participate in or manage projects related to the implementation of new or enhanced systems, providing advice and support to users and reviewing business processes as required to enable to continually improve its processes and effectiveness.
  • Provide expert advice and assistance to users in terms of their requirements and acceptance of reports developed and presented.
  • Retrieve information from the system in a timely and meaningful fashion, by designing and delivering reports that meet information needs.
  • Provide hands-on technical services with SQL Server related administration and workflow as required.
  • Identify issues with data integrity (accuracy, consistency and currency); recommend plans of action for correction of these issues; and implement agreed data correction solutions.
  • Contribute to the monitoring, analysis and reporting of issues relating to data integrity, to facilitate system enhancement.
  • Engage with end users to understand their requirements and the business needs to ensure that the solution meets these requirements; develop and implement appropriate user support and training; and coordinate user acceptance testing. 
  • Significant experience working with a sophisticated database reporting package utilising an SQL server database.
  • Skills and experience in the development of SSIS packages and the utilisation of SQL Server Management Studio for the development and execution of SQL scripts and stored procedures.
  • Experience with business system User Acceptance Testing, and in the preparation of user documentation and training materials
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills; ability to develop and deliver training to a variety of users.
  • Good conceptual skills with the ability to collate and analyse data, identify issues, assess options and prepare recommendations and reports, rapidly and accurately.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, demonstrated initiative and sound judgment.
  • Skills and experience in the utilisation of a range of relevant software applications, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Skills and knowledge in .NET code is desirable.
