A large government department is seeking highly skilled SQL Database Administrators and Designers to engage in long-term contract roles based in the A.C.T. These roles offer highly competitive contract rates and possibilities for contract extension options. 

  • Competitive contract rate based on full time hours
  • Australian citizenship required
  • Minimum of a Baseline clearance required - Must be eligible for  NV1

The Role:

The Database Administrators are mainly responsible for the following:
  • Support of Aged Care SQL Databases and Data Warehousing Infrastructure
  • Creation and provision of Databases and Infrastructure
  • Performing SQL Releases including Data Warehouse
  • Powershell and automation activities.
The work performed by the Database Administrators will consist of:
  • Database Administration
  • Promotions of release candidates
  • Maintenance of physical database structures
  • Version control of database definition scripts
  • Programming of stored procedures and triggers
  • Preparation and execution of scripts to apply database changes
  • Data management tasks related to application interfaces
  • Monitoring, reporting and correction of data accuracy and quality issues
  • Maintenance of release standards

Core Skills Required:
  • Demonstrate experience and proven skills in the administration of SQL Server 2008R2, SQL Server 2012 and/or SQL Server 2016
  • Demonstrate ability to develop complex T-SQL code using stored procedures, triggers, views and functions
  • Demonstrate knowledge of SQL Server database functions and related usage such as indexing, query tuning and performance
  • Demonstrate understanding and experience of using Powershell for automation tasks
  • Display excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrate strong communication and presentation skills
