A DevOps Engineer is required to join a government department on a contract through until December 2019. As the DevOps Engineer you will be required to manage the ongoing enhancements of the GovCMS website.

The Role:
The Department is working collaboratively with other Commonwealth Entities to migrate government websites to the GovCMS SaaS hosting platform. A DevOps engineer is required to assist with the migration of websites from a variety of CMS tools and hosting environments. The primary focus of the DevOps role will be managing the ongoing enhancement of the GovCMS open source hosting platform. The platform uses Docker, Kubernetes and OpenShift to manage the development and deployment of more than 250 websites. The project will use Agile, and has a strict, tight delivery timeframe. The DevOps Engineer will collaborate with senior members of the project team, including a Delivery Manager, the GovCMS Technical Lead, senior Drupal developers, and members of the Finance Service Operations team.

 

Essential criteria
  • Highly proficient with Bash or other scripting languages - minimum 2 years
  • Highly proficient with Ansible (Tower/AWX) and demonstrated experience using REST/GraphQL
  • Demonstrated experience with CI/CD/pipeline optimisation (GitLab preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience with Docker / Kubernetes / OpenShift administration
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team in an Agile environment

 
Desirable criteria
  • A working knowledge of Drupal, PHP, GovCMS
  • A working knowledge of JavaScript testing frameworks and automation
