Our client is a global organisation and has been active in the Australian market for over 40 years. The company is involved in designing, engineering and manufacturing digital signage solutions for the hospitality, consumer-driven and associated retail related industries. The business is rapidly expanding due to some significant wins, as a result, they are looking for an innovative, technical and strategic mind to direct their product development division, and lead the business from the front with their cutting edge product design.

As the Director of Product development, you will drive innovation and strategy for product development and be expected to deliver the technical roadmap and strategic execution plan. These responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Position Objectives:
  • Overseeing innovation and strategy for product development.
  • The ability to conduct innovative research and manage the existing portfolio of clients, conduct concept generation exercises, investigate and understand the relevant market needs, define the value proposition, undertake competitor analysis, and maintain industry awareness which will allow the development of new product innovations and opportunities.
  • Create a strategic roadmap based on technical knowledge, new concepts, market and customer demands, and strategic alignment to the business.
  • Evaluate and suggest products based on the company requirements and roadmap outlined.
  • Oversee vendor and product selection through RFP processes 
  • Managing pre-existing vendor relationships.
  • Work closely with supply chain and procurement teams 
  • Implement procedures that will monitor the management of the product lifecycle.
  • Monitor product line integrity and consistency in product management 
  • Critically analyse and report on product performance indicators.
The successful candidate will have at least 4+ year's hands-on experience in the digital signage or related space. Within that, a further 2+ year experience managing a product development team and all the associated responsibilities.  These include but are not limited to:

Some Responsibilities:
  • Knowledgeable pricing experience to a digital signage or related product.
  • Experience owning and managing a digital Hardware product and the development of the roadmaps associated with these products.
  • Extensive knowledge of product and vendor selection.
  • Previous experience working in the digital hardware space including but not limited to signage, poker machines, smartphone, retail fit out and other associated displays.
  • Management experience and the ability to work with and mentor fellow colleagues.
Expertise and individual qualities:
  • A strategic thinker who possesses strong communication skills and the proven ability to unify stakeholders and deliver a strong digital product roadmap 
  • Operate and positively influence a diverse group of individuals in a complex environment.
  • Vigorous/diverse communication and writing skills which will allow the clear delivery of a company message to internal & external stakeholders with ease
$220k+ Base + Super + Commission + Bonuses
