We are currently looking for a Drupal Developer for a 6 month engagement with a large organisation based in St Lucia. The primary function of the position is to provide a high level of development and support for the Drupal platform and to support the development of high value, high traffic websites. This position provides technical leadership with expertise in the areas of development and deployment. 

  • Design, implementation, installation and maintenance of the organisations website infrastructure and CMS platform: Drupal. 
  • Features, roles, permissions, bug testing, performance enhancements 
  • Working with an innovative team, collaborating on solutions, participate in team code reviews and provide support to stakeholders 
  • Undertake design and development of significant information technology projects with regard to the professional qualifications and experience of the position. 
  • Consult on the technical aspects of information technology to Information Technology Services clients, where appropriate, acting as the business representative between non-technical business owners and suppliers of IT services both internal and external. 
  • Initiate, investigate, evaluate and, where appropriate, implement new and emerging web technologies and identify opportunities to enhance developed Drupal websites. 
  • Ensure client satisfaction through the provision of efficient work practices and fostering positive client relationships, engaging with diverse business and technical groups across the University to ensure the development of appropriate solutions. 
  • Assist in documenting processes, architectures, designs and project plans for the provision of software applications and websites. 
  • Assist team members in developing their skill set through mentoring. 
  • Where appropriate, assist the supervisor and unit manager in matters of budget preparation, management of the unit and strategic and long term planning. 
  • Consult to clients and represent Information Technology Services on matters not directly related to technical issues, such as, staff selection and other University committees. 
  • Undertake administrative tasks including (but not limited to) preparation of business cases, preparation of plans (in support of technical tasks), submission of change and overtime requests, management of work requests and completion of timesheets. 
  • This role may require out of hours work to resolve outages or implement security updates. 
  • Participate in, and contribute to, the team's Agile development practices. 
  • Strong backend Drupal 7 development experience, including module design, implementation and extension of features within the Drupal platform.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Agile development practices.
