This Client based in Brisbane's CBD is currently looking for a customer-focussed Graphic Designer to create a range of design applications including visual identity, publications and web-based material. This includes providing advice and design concepts for marketing collateral and ensuring a high standard and variety of graphic imagery and quality reproduction of original artworks and material. The role also includes coordinating the production of material to meet budget and deadlines.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Undertake design work for the organisation's corporate publications, budget documents and materials.
  • Manage in-house graphic design work including publications, templates and other corporate design requirements as directed, including liaising with internal clients and external suppliers and meeting production deadlines.
  • Ensure a high standard of printing and reproduction in completed work.
  • Attend regular work in progress meetings and function as a member of the Marketing and Communication branch.  Provide advice and design assistance to Marketing and Communication employees. Communicate with technical and professional contractors as required.
  • Keep up to date with innovations in graphic design and publishing/printing technology. 
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
EssentiaL
  • A degree or diploma in graphic design and a thorough and demonstrated knowledge of graphic design principles.  
  • Extensive experience in developing graphic design products that meet client specifications.
  • High level experience in the conceptualisation and implementation of innovative design solutions for exhibitions, displays and learning activities.  Ability to thoughtfully incorporate original artwork, historical material and creative concepts into designs.
  • A proven ability to develop and communicate production schedules and to work to and meet deadlines while maintaining the quality of work produced.
  • Strong organisational skills and applied understanding of graphic design project management.
  • Strong communication skills in order to effectively consult with and gain the trust of a wide range of project stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a busy, creative team in a large bureaucracy. 
Desirable
  • A sound knowledge of relevant Workplace Health and Safety and Equal Employment Opportunity principles and guidelines.
