We are seeking an ICT Project Manager to lead and manage the planning and delivery of critical, highly complex and/or large projects. The role delivers project management and systems expertise to support the development, design and implementation of Electronic Document and Records Management Systems (EDRMS). The role provides specialist advice and recommendations regarding project management methodologies, processes and good practice, and contributes to a positive and supportive workplace culture.

Key accountabilities
  • Project-manage the development and implementation of projects and/or business improvement initiatives in accordance with strategic plans, consultative processes and reporting requirements. The position establishes and manages project governance frameworks, policies, plans, procedures, quality assurance mechanisms and reporting processes to ensure compliance with the Department's policies and processes and broader legislative requirements.
  • Lead and manage the planning and delivery of critical, highly complex and/or large projects, ensuring compliance with business objectives, approved program/project methodologies, policies, guidelines, tools and metrics.
  • Foster and sustain strategic partnerships. The role works towards improving business outcomes through developing strategies and negotiates with and influences a variety of stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement systems and processes that enable regular evaluation and accurate reporting of project/unit/Directorate objectives.
  • Provide expert advice to stakeholders and communicate decisions and other relevant information to relevant audiences, in a timely manner, using appropriate media.
  • Provide regular updates to the supervisor regarding progress and achievement of the role's agreed business and reporting targets.
  • Develop a project work plan with the supervisor that articulates, clarifies and documents the role's specific responsibilities, key deliverables, expected outcomes and indicators of success over a 12 month period (or less for shorter projects).
  • Manage project team(s) performance and implement protocols to ensure that all project staff are effectively engaged and motivated in the delivery of service and business outcomes. This includes implementing the Department's performance development program for team members who are direct reports.
Key challenges
  • Managing resources to ensure that project priorities are met within agreed standards and to optimise returns on the allocated budget.
  • Gaining support from key stakeholders across the organisation for the Directorate's programs and initiatives. This support is critical for the continued delivery of quality and strategically targeted corporate services, programs and advice.
  • Developing and maintaining a culture of continuous improvement to ensure the constant development of corporate services being provided across the Department.
Experience in NSW public sector is highly desirable but not mandatory.
