Talent International is currently seeking multiple resources to assist the way information is managed in a large enterprise Government Department based in central Canberra. 
  • 12 month contract
  • NV1 security clearance required!
  • Bachelor's degree in related field

Information Governance 
  • The successful applicant will be required to draft and maintains the policy, standards and procedures for compliance with relevant legislation. Understands the implications of information, both internal and external, that can be mined from business systems and elsewhere.
  • Makes business decisions based on that information, including the need to make changes to systems. Reviews proposals for new digital initiatives and provides specialist advice on information management, including advice on and promotion of collaborative working and assessment and management of information-related risk.
  • Creates and maintains an inventory of information assets, which are subject to relevant legislation. Prepares, reviews and submits periodic notification of registration details to the relevant regulatory authorities. Ensures that formal information access requests and complaints are dealt with according to approved procedures.
  • The Information Governance role will develop and implement the information governance framework, including the plan for embedding within respective domains. They will provide expert advice and develop IM policies and processes to ensure effective governance that continues to mature.
  • Engage with EIM Data governance committee and data stewards applying data principles, standards, policies and guidelines
  • Establish and maintain metadata strategy and appropriate policies, especially clear governance
  • Working within and beyond their immediate area to implement change in support of the adoption of data governance policies
  • Reporting into the data governance council, individually (per their direct responsibility) but also as a team (a data governance group, for example) when the need for governance spans data domains and business functions

Standards and Compliance 
  • Interprets information assurance and security policies and applies these in order to manage risks. Provides advice and guidance to ensure adoption of and adherence to information assurance architectures, strategies, policies, standards and guidelines. Uses testing to support information assurance. Contributes to the development of policies, standards and guidelines.
  • The Standards and Compliance role will focus on the development of the policies and strategies to deliver effective adoption and adherence to information management and governance policy.
  • Develop and maintain controls to effectively manage data quality
  • Enforcement of activities to ensure target goals for data fidelity improvement and adherence with all other types of data governance policies
  • Monitoring and tracking ongoing data fidelity (for example, quality and consistency) levels and other metrics which assess the adherence of data and people to data governance policies
  • Experience managing data quality management services
  • Experience in defining data standards, measuring data against standards and data quality reporting
  • Proven experience in working with the data community, ensuring that frameworks are implemented and sustained.
