A government-owned organisation is seeking to engage an experienced Information Security Officer to be responsible for the day to day support of Information Security within the organisation. 

This position will suit a candidate who is familiar with Information Security Operations and toolsets, particularly SIEM, Virus Scan consoles and managing alerting and monitoring platforms. They must be confident in assessing and responding to alert and engaging with other busines areas as appropriate. They will have experience in the application of the ASD Information Security manual, particularly how it applies to Information and Security Monitoring and vulnerability management. Specific vendor and toolsets include:
  • Tripwire
  • Trend Micro (Officescan)
  • Check Point
  • Bluecoat
  • Ironport

Key responsibilities:
  • Assume day to day responsibility for reviewing the alerts and logs currently being collected
  • Assessing and responding appropriately, and developing the organisation's monitoring and reporting function through continual improvement of detection and monitoring tools, continual improvement of the source of alerts and logs and develop and automate the report functions within the current toolset
  • Ensure timely, quality reporting of detected security incidents to relevant stakeholders
  • Assess Incident Response Processes and capability; identify discrepanies with best practice and propose improvements and efficiencies

It is a requirement of this position that the successful candidate must be an Australian Citizen and willing to undergo a criminal history check.
