We are currently looking for an IT Continuity/Disaster Recovery Specialist for a 6-month contract with our client in the Adelaide CBD. 

The resource will participate in the IT Continuity lifecycle based on International Standard ISO/IEC 27031:2011 as implemented by our client in order to coordinate and facilitate the identification, implementation and testing of IT Continuity and Availability arrangements in order to support Business Continuity requirements.  The resource will:
  • Have a strong IT infrastructure understanding as it relates to Availability and Continuity mechanisms, for example, Virtualisation, SAN to SAN replication, VMware Site Recovery Manager, SQL AAG etc. 
  • Be able to constructively collaborate with multiple different teams within IT to ensure a positive outcome 
  • Capable of documenting technical processes 
  • Have a strong interest in and understanding of the Business and IT Continuity disciplines (Desirable)
  • Be familiar with appropriate ISO standards relating to Business and IT Continuity (International Standard ISO/IEC 27031 and ISO 22301) (Desirable)
Daily tasks:

The resources will assist IT projects to ensure that critical systems are resilient and recoverable by collaborating with and guiding IT teams in implementing, documenting and testing the IT Continuity capabilities.  These activities will include:
  • Provide input into projects during planning phases to ensure that IT Continuity requirements are understood and scoped.
  • Review system designs to ensure that ITC and Availability requirements are met.
  • Create detailed ITC Recovery procedures for systems or sets of systems in collaboration with IT SMEs.
  • Plan and coordinate ITC tests for several IT Projects
  • Conduct technical workshops to identify ITC testing issues and constraints and find the optimum test approach for critical systems.
  • Execute ITC tests and identify gaps and corrective actions
  • Produce test reports
  • Track corrective actions to completion
  • Update overall IT Continuity Plans with new/updated ITC arrangements
