Talent International is excited to be working in partnership with a leading national Telecommunications company who is seeking a Network Planner on a 6 month contract, located in North Sydney.

The Network Planning Function will take high-level strategic access plans as input and detail the access design per serving area, so they can then be designed and constructed.

As the Network planner, you will be required to exercise strong process and technical skills to effectively carry out the key responsibilities of the role. You will be accountable for the execution of core activities in order to meet business requirements.  As most of the work is non-routine and complex, you will be required to exercise strong process and technical skills to effectively carry out the key responsibilities below.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review Network Boundaries and Technology Selection
  • Provide an overall network plan for an area that provides capacity to deliver all known and future requirements of that area in accordance with the company's planning guidelines
  • Prepare Network Planning documentation in accordance with the company's planning guidelines and templates to detail the required DFN requirements to support various Programs of Work
  • Ensure network connectivity for New Development applications by providing network plans
  • Provide details to network design and construction teams on the network required to be built to connect a New Development application
  • Ensure network boundary corrections are implemented and impacts are understood by respective groups accordingly
  • Provide a scope of works document that details works required to provide service to addresses that were not covered as part of the initial Brownfields rollout
About you:
  • Five years post graduate experience in the Telecommunications industry
  • Good knowledge of  Network Planning concepts and Fixed Line Access Technologies (FTTN, FTTP, FTTC, FTTB, HFC)
  • Good knowledge of Telecommunications Distribution (DFN) and Local Network Architecture (LFN)
  • Minimum of two years MTM Fixed line Planning experience
  • Experience in geospatial applications and access network design Eg SpatialNet, MapInfo, Visio
