Talent International is working in partnership with a large government organisation to assist in sourcing an experienced "Network Specialist' To provide ongoing support to the Information Communication Technology (ICT) division to ensure network infrastructure and services are stable and secure, maximising availability and business continuity for End Users and Business constituents.
The Network Engineer will administer and provide technical support to monitor network performance, stability, and uptime. The incumbent will provide technical escalation for networking incidents and provide input into the design and engineering of data networks. This will include the evaluation, recommendation, installation, and support with minimal supervision.

Key Accountabilities
  • Manage, monitor and undertake preventative maintenance of networks which span 285+ sites, including core network systems (routers and switches), firewalls and wireless platforms, in addition to, reporting on key performance indicators as they relate to the position.
  • Manage, monitor and be accountable for mission-critical Triple Zero data networks, which span rural and metropolitan sites across NSW, including State Headquarters at Rozelle.
  • Participate in the planning, design, development, configuration, and installation of networks
  • Maintain and update documentation as required, including, but not limited to Network Diagrams, Design and As-Built, and Technical Self-Help documentation for Tier 2 Support Teams.
  • Undertaking other duties not specifically stated which from time to time are necessary without altering the nature or level of responsibility
Experience Required
  • Tertiary qualifications in an ICT related discipline including relevant industry certifications within the field of Networking (CCNA or CCNP), and/or equivalent experience in Network administration, maintenance and design in a large organisation with a strong understanding of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Framework.
  • Proven experience in a Network Engineer role utilising a computerised Service Management Ticketing System.
  • High-level computer literacy and experience in Local, Campus and Wide Area Networking, networking infrastructure and security strategies, systems and standards for a large diverse organisation.
  • A well-developed technical knowledge of a wide range of networking technologies including, but not limited to Huawei and Cisco LAN/WAN, Controller-based WLAN, Cisco Next-Generation Firewalls, Proactive Network Monitoring Systems such as
  • Attention to detail and demonstrated experience in preparing detailed technical documentation.
  •  Network Diagrams, Design, and As-Built documentation.
