A large player in the health industry are currently undergoing a large transformation and as a result, have released a vendor management focussed role. This role is responsible for the management of vendors and is accountable for ensuring that the existing partnerships are sound and delivering successfully.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:
  • Building true partnerships with the chosen vendors - Deliver value to the end to end process. For example the impact on existing customers
  • Leadership and management- Collaborate with internal stakeholders on partner management activities ensuring strategic objectives are aligned
  • Partner Management- Assist in the build and execution of strategic partnerships strategy that enables them to source new value from the vendors. You will also serve as a point of resolution for key vendor issues
  • Value-add and innovation- Leverage partner strategy to create new value in the engagement 
  • Governance- Provide executive reporting to ensure the value delivered and performance issues are made visible
Whilst you will have no direct reports, your internal and external relationships are key. And to be successful, you will need the following experience:
  • Demonstrated track record of creating value for an organisation through effective strategic partnerships- including significant experience with IT vendors 
  • Demonstrated experience in managing software licensing, hardware procurement and outsourcing agreements 
  • Extensive experience working with strategic sourcing 
  • Strong relationship management
  • Experience with IT vendor management in a services organisation 
  • Highly developed negotiation skills
  • A broad knowledge of IT industry suppliers 
As well as the above, you will be leading the partner engagement and will be accountable for ensuring the partnerships are commercially sound. You will work closely with the assigned vendors to ensure effective delivery of committed goods and services.
