Our client is a large and innovative government agency dedicated to uplifting digital capability within the Federal Government. Working with our client, you will have the opportunity to work on large-scale, cross-agency ICT projects which will improve the delivery of government online services for Australians.


About the Role
Our client is seeking an energised and enthusiastic Procurement Adviser to join the agency's digital team. This role will help drive growth in the digital market and play a key role in building buyer demand and providing technical procurement advice.


Key Responsibilities
You will play a key role in providing technical procurement advice to government buyers who are looking to use the Digital Marketplace for their sourcing needs.

The position involves working with government buyers to shape their procurement activities onto the Marketplace, in such a way as to increase small and medium sized businesses engagement with the government. You will use agile methodology and contemporary stakeholder engagement approaches. This means delivering at pace, being open to changing approaches and taking an appropriate attitude to risk.


Skills & Experience
  • Strong understanding and advanced knowledge of procurement strategies, processes, options and approaches.
  • A proven ability to engage in the customer ""needs analysis"" process, by providing specialist technical procurement advice.
  • Wide-ranging experience in applying engagement principles, practices and evaluation methods in a practical setting.
  • Strong understanding and experience of industry accepted engagement principles and practices that you deploy in everyday situations.
  • Understanding of how Government engages with industry, particularly Small to Medium Enterprises and an ability to use this understanding to improve engagement and outcomes.
  • Excellent client relationship skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level organisational and resource management skills
  • Good understanding of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules.
