We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Program Officer to undertake specialised program support activities for a large and complex ICT program and its subsidiary projects. This role sits with a large government department based in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. This is an approx 12 month engagement and will report to the Program Director.

Your key accountabilities will include:
  • Monitor and report on the program, its schedules, interdependencies and the supporting program delivery office.
  • Coordinate, prepare and support the governance boards and communications such as secretariat function and minutes.
  • Monitoring and reporting to the Program Director on business case development, benefits management and assurance.
  • Participate in risk and issue assessment and mitigation activities by ensuring risks and issues are documented, reviewed and escalated as appropriate.
  • Initiate, influence and maintain relationships with and between internal and external stakeholders to facilitate effective communications and foster relationships through lessons learned, feedback mechanisms and the management of expectations.
  • Prepare reports and undertake communications activities on behalf of the projects and program ensuring a single point of truth for the overall program's management of information.
Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate previous experience and expertise in a similar role.
  • Plan and manage activities to successfully achieve on-time delivery of program and project outcomes.
  • Identify, develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships, including relationships with other agencies and industry.
  • Demonstrate and apply your knowledge of project management methods (such as PRINCE2).
  • Work collaboratively within the project team, particularly with cross-agency stakeholders and subject matter experts.
  • Communicate project requirements and outcomes, both in writing and orally.
  • Qualifications in PRINCE2, Project Management Methodology and MSP Program Management Methodology will be highly regarded.
