Project Commercial Analyst - Financial modelling

My client, a high profile organisation are looking for a talented individual to join their commercial team for an 8-month assignment as Project Commercial Analyst.

This exciting new post will see you working in a close-knit team assisting and leading financial modelling/analysis, month-end and year-end processes and performance reporting and provide financial, commercial and analytical support.

Key Responsibilities;
  • Complete month-end and year-end activities for the MPS project, including journals, reconciliations and performance reporting
  • Complete monthly and yearly budgeting and forecasting for the MPS project
  • Monitor the MPS project general ledger and liaise with Finance to fix any errors identified
  • Maintain the MPS project general ledger structure
  • Collect, refine and compile financial data to enable financial modelling and any short-form analysis
  • Develop financial models that allow for discounted cash flow, scenario and/or sensitivity analysis to inform project investment decision-making
  • Provide commercial support in sourcing activities including contract negotiations
  • Provide financial, commercial and analytical support to the MPS project team and the wider CE division and perform ad-hoc financial/commercial analysis as required
  • Liaise with finance to answer any MPS project related financial queries as required

Background and Experience sought;
  • Tertiary degree in Accounting and/or Finance with a CPA or CA qualification
  • 5+ years' relevant industry experience as a project team member
  • Must have advanced financial budgeting, modelling and analytical skills - this is key!
  • Thorough understanding of accounting standards and financial concepts
  • Previous experience in the Resources, Oil & Gas and/or Energy/ Utilities sectors
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and Power Point
  • Demonstrated research and problem-solving skills
