We are currently looking for a Project Manager for a contract until 30.09.2018 for a large government department. This role is based on the Sunshine Coast. This role will require a Project Manager with delivery experience in large and complex ICT environments, ideally with previous healthcare experience.

  • Provide project management expertise as a senior member of an Implementation Team to deliver a successful Electronic Medical Records (EMR) roll out to specified clinical departments.
  • Work with a designated Principal Business Analyst and alongside Analysis, Design and Configuration, Training, Go-Live support, Subject Matter Experts, communications, Change and Benefits and Stakeholder Engagement teams to ensure requirements are met within the specified clinical departments.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with staff.
  • Manage the readiness activities within designated area to ensure they are ready for Go Live.
  • Promote and ensure the use of appropriate project management techniques, methodologies and tools, including benefits realisation and risk and issue management, to ensure quality project outcomes are delivered.
  • Develop and manage high quality project management artefacts and products within the agreed scope of work using approved templates within the agreed timeframes.
  • Oversee and manage the monitoring and reporting of project related trends and performance against project plans and schedules.
  • Manage project resources, expenses and capital costs against the project forecasts.
  • Initiate, influence and maintain relationships with and between key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate effective communication channels to promote the successful adoption of change within the business, and foster relationships through lessons learned, feedback mechanisms and management of expectations.
  • Demonstrated high level project management skills within a large, complex and high profile change program environment, preferably in the health care industry.
  • Understanding of the complexities and impacts of implementing a major clinical systems change and its impact on health service delivery at all levels
  • Experience in leading and mentoring a team of project staff including subject matter experts, business analysts, trainers, change & stakeholder engagement experts and super-users to deliver projects in a challenging environment.
  • Proven experience in leading, managing and mentoring an effective multi-disciplinary change and business stakeholder delivery team.
  • Proven excellence in negotiation, consultation, facilitation and effective written and oral communication skills for use in a complex project and clinical environment.
  • Proven analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills and a proven ability to work in a team environment developing and fostering effective working relationships with team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and communicate with diverse stakeholders (including clinical stakeholders), technical specialists and end users to effectively develop and implement change solutions involving major business process changes.
  • Understanding of health information management concepts within a public health environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of healthcare ICT applications and their integration.
