We are currently looking for a Project Manager for a large government department based in Brisbane. This contract will go through until end of June, 2018, and will be based in the Brisbane CBD.

The Open Data Framework Project:
The department is looking to making more data available to the public to support innovation and economic development, demonstrate transparency and improve social and community outcomes. Increasingly the data considered valuable is spatial data managed and stored in mapping applications.

The role:
This role is for a Project Manager and will sit within Information Services branch and be responsible for the planning and delivery of outcomes within the Open Data framework. Tasks will include effective Project and work breakdown planning, delivering procurement processes, contract management, monitoring status of the Project, customer liaison (on non-technical issues) and work prioritisation.

Deliverables:
  • Produce a Specification document for the purpose of conducting a procurement exercise
  • Procure solution
  • Change management & Release Management
  • Effective management of Project risks and issues
  • Management of Vendor/s to support delivery of solution
  • Produce price estimates and ensure the agreed scope of work is delivered within both the estimated schedule and budget
  • Provision of a Project Management Plan covering all services to be provided by Information Services Branch (ISB) and any of its sub-contractors in accordance with this Statement of Work Schedule
  • Test Management as per the specification
  • Engage suitable ISB internal and Vendor resources to deliver a suitable solution to specification and in adherence with the relevant ISB Enterprise Architecture guidelines and standards.
  • Ensure that all Vendor resources adhere to the agreed Project control procedures to deliver products and services to specification
  • Implement the developed solution according to ISB development, testing and release management methodologies
  • Tracking and Management of all Project Costs against Budget.
  • Completion of formal reports in line with the set monthly timeframes
  • Regular Status reports to Stakeholders
Requirements:
  • Experience in writing a Specification document.
  • Experience in performing a market exercise to procure a solution.​Experience in successfully managing vendors and working collaboratively with key client stakeholders/representatives and ICT support and operational personnel. 
  • Broad skill and experience in all aspects of ICT project management. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills for communicating with executive management, peers and technical consultants/specialist both internal and external. 
  • Strong written communication skill for conveying associated complex ICT architectures into easily and accurately understood information. 
  • Leadership, guidance and direction as part of managing teams consisting of project staff, customers, account executives, project managers, operational staff and designers, to ensure the delivery of solution options and technical cost estimates, in line with solution architectures and agreed project solution designs. 
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and implement architectural analysis, design and application of enterprise, solution and risk/security architecture on ICT initiatives, strategies, ideas and/or concepts 
  • Extensive experience in program or Project management methodologies (for example, PMBok or PRINCE2) 
  • Experience in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) would be an advantage but not essential
