We are currently looking for a Project Scheduler for a large government contract based in the Brisbane CBD. This is an initial 6 month initial contract with good chance of extension. This role would suit a Project Scheduler/Project Coordinator with good Scheduling experience using MS Project in an ICT project environment.

  • Develops planning and scheduling standards and practices to enable resource management, dependence management, monitoring and reporting.
  • Provides expertise advice on planning and scheduling to ensure the optimum delivery of programs/projects.
  • Coordinating with Project Managers to ensure individual schedules for each project are aligned with the Master schedule.
  • Facilitating planning workshops to ensure proper planning is completed and interdependencies are identified.
  • Provides expertise advice and input for the implementation of project portfolio management tool.
  • Evaluate project schedule progress and performance to identify problem areas and advises possible corrective actions to ensure on time delivery.
  • Identifies and implements planning and scheduling improvement initiatives.
  • Map and maintain interdependency linkages to ensure consideration of logic and mutual exclusivity in portfolio selection, and also portfolio risk during delivery.
  • Provide proactive strategic reporting on the status of the resource pool including net capacity and demand, upcoming skill gaps that need filling, over-allocations, and the impact on resourcing of delays in projects.
  • Ensure updating of schedules based on information gathered by attending meetings and other forums.
  • Maintaining the program schedule baseline and reporting variances to the baseline to the relevant Project Manager.
Desirable experience:
  • Proven experience in developing, managing and maintaining project and program schedules to support the planning and reporting requirements of the organisation with extensive experience in MS Project.
  • Experience working in ICT environments as a Scheduler/Coordinator
  • Proven stakeholder relationship management skills to support effective project management scheduling strategies, including the ability to influence key stakeholders
  • Proven effective consultation, facilitation, written and oral communication skills for use in a complex program/project or ambiguous environment.
  • Demonstrated analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills and a proven ability to work in a team.
