Primary purpose of the role
The primary purpose of Aviation Strategy is to provide strategic transport leadership in the management and development of domestic and international aviation within NSW. This includes the integration of all modes of surface transport associated with major Airports within NSW.
The role will assist the Director, Aviation Strategy on a day to day basis, and will act on their behalf across the networks portfolio. This role is accountable for performing day to day planning, project management and administrative activities to support project specific and ongoing team related objectives. This includes managing efficient project management and administrative systems and processes to support effective time management and liaison on behalf of the Executive Manager and ensure coordination of briefs, presentations and reports.Key accountabilities
  • Extract, analyse and report results in accessible format to assist with the preparation of high quality and professional standard reports.
  • Manage the reporting schedule, ensuring that all actions and papers are delivered on-time and production of papers is achieved to the schedule
  • Maintain the project's physical and electronic filing systems, including version and release management controls for all project documents.
  • Prepare, maintain and administer project related procedures ensuring each procedure remains aligned with the Project Overview Methodology.
  • Provide high level administrative support to the Director, Aviation Strategy and team members including the preparation of confidential briefing notes, ministerials and memoranda to ensure completion within specified timeframes. This will also include on time completion of presentations and reports.
  • Ensure information is readily accessible between programs, be the conduit for information exchange

Key challenges
  • Identify, and obtain program information for all projects.
  • Collating and standardising program information from multiple teams.
  • Providing a high quality and confidential project and administrative service to the principal manager and team members.
  • Managing the office of the Executive Manager and team members to ensure that the business needs are met in a proficient and timely manner.
  • Developing and managing administrative processes and support systems.
  • Managing time and prioritising issues given a constant range of issues and competing demands.
  • Contributing effectively to the definition, development and execution of ongoing and project specific management systems to support the delivery of business objectives.
  • Responding to Senior Executive requirements.
