Proposal Analyst


A large private enterprise is seeking a skilled and experienced Proposal Analyst to engage permanently in a role based in Canberra. You will facilitate the efficient delivery of quality proposal documents. This includes compiling cost, schedule, and technical elements in the development of proposals.

Your tasks will include:
  • Provide coordination and guidance to the proposal team throughout the proposal cycle including all reviews and final productions. Serve as a liaison point between Delivery, Operations and the Planning team for proposal development. 
  • Review tenders/draft contracts to identify commercial and financial requirements and to mitigate risks 
  • Timely escalation of contractual matters to maximize revenue/growth and avoid penalties  
  • Coordination with internal stakeholders and suppliers to provide estimates/quotes for pricing
  • Team with cost/schedule analysts to establish contract cost and schedule baselines 
  • Perform schedule risk assessments to identify and mitigate program cost and scheduling risks 
  • Perform analyses and prepare reports in order to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelines 
  • As the main point of contact between proposal management, authors, volume leads, graphics and production personnel, the facilitator's objective is to coordinate, maintain and track all work from all participants during each phase of the proposal process up to and including reporting and timely delivery of the final product.  
  • Analyse the RFP for formatting and production requirements, maintain/track configuration control for all text and graphics documents. 
  • Assist authors with document and art version control  
  • Coordinate internal reviews to proposed solution, pricing and quality are acceptable prior to submission.


To be successful you will need:
  • A pro-active approach with the ability to understand the business, identify issues and develop relationships to achieve the company's objectives 
  • Some relevant working experience in similar role (preferably in similar industry)  
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple, concurrent activities, while understanding and managing priorities, dependencies and risk. 
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.  
  • Strong focus on customer service and outcome. 
  • Proven ability to adapt and maintain a flexible approach to changing needs or priorities. 
  • Strong reporting and analytical skills with attention to details.
  • Strong problem-solving skill with the ability to resolve complex technical issues. 
  • High level of initiative and self-motivation.
