Big telecommunication company based in Gladstone is looking for a Radio Communications Field Engineer to join the team. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Be the onsite single point of contact and owner for all radio communication matters to provide seamless integration to the customer operational work practices and responsible for oversight, configuration, preparation and deployment of subscriber terminals and ensure asset records are updated and system support tickets opened and closed out to track all activities according to ITIL service delivery process.
  • Install, maintain and upgrade trunked system controllers, switches and routers associated with digital communications systems.
  • Programming of all radio types ie Tetra base stations, Links, Subscriber equipment codeplugs etc, and updating of the central fleet map records to capture this information. This includes the digital radio network core servers and user database.
  • Liaise with Customers to discuss incident concerns or complaints, instigating corrective actions where required.
  • Act as a technical escalation point for Network Operations Control Centre (NOCC) staff and Customer technical assistance.
Education & Qualifications
  • Minimum of four years in a radio communication service environment.
  • Good understanding of communication systems and supporting sub systems such as microwave and power management.
  • Familiarity with digital conventional and trunked radio systems (TETRA/ASTRO25), IP architecture and networking (both wired and wireless).
  • Equivalent on the job experience performing similar support role outlined in the Responsibilities, above.
  • Familiarity with Windows and Unix servers
  • Understanding of RF principles and antenna system multi coupling
  • Understanding how to use digital communications test equipment and interpret results such as modulation constellation or antenna sweep graphs.
