Talent International are currently recruiting for an experienced Records Clerk / Mail Distribution Officer to work for one of our NSW Government clients based in St Leonards. This position is a 4 month contract role initially with the view to be extended. This position is paying between $30- $35 per hour plus superannuation.

Primary Purpose of the position:

The primary purpose of this role is to coordinate the daily operations of the organisations mailroom, including sorting and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail and arranging courier deliveries.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Coordinate daily operation of mail services including including, sorting of incoming and outgoing mail, receive and arrange couriers.
·        Prepare envelopes for mailing of items in accordance with standard distribution lists includes labelling, folding, inserting and/or sealing mail in appropriate envelopes.
·        Ensure compliance with government and department policy in relation to security of incoming mail and courier deliveries that support the safety of the staff.
·        Apply the organisations EEO Management Plan as appropriate and maintain a healthy and safe workplace.

Essential Requirements:

·        Demonstrated experience in mail management and provision of courier services.
·        Demonstrated knowledge of government and department policy and procedure in relation to incoming mail and courier deliveries to ensure the safety of staff.
·        Demonstrated keyboard skills and experience with Microsoft Office software products.
·        Well developed interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills.
·        Well developed organisational, problem solving, and analytical skills.
·        High level of commitment of focussing on customer needs and to the continual improvement of information and mailing services.
·        Ability to work as part of a team and with minimal supervision.
·        Understanding of and commitment to Work, Health & Safety requirements, including manual handling.
