Operational Risk & Compliance Analyst

Our Client is a mid-tier financial services organisation with a great culture. They are currently seeking an operational risk and compliance analyst to focus on assisting their Customer Banking and Customer experience areas in carrying out compliance reviews, identifying and reporting instances of non-compliance with relevant internal and external requirements (e.g. policies and procedures) and making recommendations in relation to findings.

In this exciting role you will support the Senior Manager Operational Risk & Compliance and the business units in executing their risk management practices in line with Bank policies, frameworks and procedures.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Completion of monthly BU risk reporting.
  • Completing incident and breach reporting, and supporting the business with root cause analysis and identification of treatment plan actions.
  • Ensure that the Bank's business continuity frameworks are fully implemented across the BU, including regular reviews/testing activity to ensure currency of documentation (i.e. incorporating any structural/system/process changes) and overall staff readiness.
  • Co-ordinate risk assessments in respect of new business initiatives impacting the Business unit. Identify and assess any material risks and ensure the development of an appropriate control framework.
  • Perform the role of secretariat for the Business unite Risk Forums, including minutes.
  • Maintain effective relationships with internal business units, key contacts and relevant third parties (e.g. customers, suppliers, regulators) to produce successful business results.
  • Support the Business unit Senior Manager Operational Risk & Compliance in managing the Operational Risk Profiles and annual Controls Assurance Program, including conducting Controls Assurance where necessary.

Your skills and experience:
  • Financial services experience, preferably in a risk or compliance role.
  • Sound report writing, presentation and verbal communication skills at all organisation levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to support required behavioural and cultural change.
  • Sound knowledge of the banking and finance industry and the related regulatory environment.
  • Considerable operational experience with financials services systems and applications
  • Experience in using MS Office.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels within the organisation and negotiate effectively to ensure completion of audit items within allocated timeframes.
