Exciting, new opportunity to join a highly energetic ICT Projects team in an initial 6 month contract role with probably extensions and/or temp-to-perm option.

This role will see you lead, develop and maintain the delivery component of the Program and Project schedule for various IT programs of work to enable our client to maintain a strong end-to-end master schedule and the effective delivery of projects, transparency of program, program tracking and delivery of digital transformation benefits. 

Key responsibilities:
  • Support the Master Scheduler by leading and facilitating the delivery schedule (forecast and actual) for IT projects so the organisation has a robust, transparent end to end master schedule for the whole of the group.
  • Interact with project team and project managers to define scope of work to develop and update detailed schedules, cost information and identification of variances from original plan;
  • Evaluate delivery project schedule progress and performance and identify developing problem areas and escalate to Governance & Assurance for resolution for review and management against master schedule.
  • Analyse critical path and constraints to determine effect of changes to schedule and recommend work-around and initiate appropriate corrective action to maintain corrective data.
  • Work closely with Program and Project managers to capture accurate and up to date data for project delivery.
  • Develop and update weekly short interval schedule working with Business Analysts, Solution Architect and project delivery teams.
  • In collaboration with change managers, support project management teams to maintain timely and effective change management processes, procedures and systems.
  • Conduct analysis to determine alternative courses of action or recovery on slipped schedules.
  • Make recommendations for continuous improvement to current practices, processes, methodologies and system applications and assist with the development and implementation of Business Unit change initiatives

Skills/ Experience:
  • Extensive experience as a scheduler, managing portfolio/program level planning.
  • Considerable background & knowledge of quality analysis principles and practices.
  • Considerable experience in conceptual and analytical processes.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Well-developed report writing skills.
  • Strong computing skills and knowledge of scheduling software applications, and Microsoft suite of systems.
  • Ability and/or achievements to improve business processes or operations through the use of business systems/applications.
