A government-owned client is currently looking for an ICT Support Engineer to join the team for a contract role.

This role is best suited for a Senior Desktop Engineer who is looking for a step up into a Systems Administrator role. The client is flexible with rates but it will depend on what you are looking for as well as your existing experience since it is a real opportunity to advance your career. The responsibilities (scope of work) include:
  • Execute the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all current IT systems.
  • Onsite systems administration, performing proactive and reactive technical support and implementation of solutions.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and perform all duties with the company's core beliefs and objectives in mind always
  • Utilize the internal IT Support system as the core day-to-day operations
  • Manage IT solutions as instructed or required by the ICT Service Delivery Manager
  • Liaise with a mixture of internal and external teams to maintain the environment E.g. internal service delivery teams and external vendors
  • Develop standard operating procedures and best practices, including providing written protocols for internal use and to end-users
  • Assist in the development and implementation of all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provision
  • Work with the technical team to implement process improvements
  • Work with the technical team including project management to deploy new systems
Essential Selection Criteria:
  • Minimum of 5 years' commercial experience in the IT Industry.
  • Experience working in a project environment.
  • Experience in desktop and peripheral support, preferably in the Windows environment (Windows 7/ Windows 10).
  • Microsoft Accreditation (MCP or MSCA) or, the ability to obtain this accreditation.
  • Support experience in Office 2016/Office 365.
  • Basic networking knowledge & troubleshooting experience.
  • Level 1 and 2 Apple iMac/MacBook support experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to support physical infrastructure including hardware installations and well-organized patching
  • Experience in break/fix of IT hardware, including desktops, workstations, laptops and servers.
  • Experience in proactively managing job queues.
  • Experience managing Active Directory/Exchange/SCCM.
  • Experiencing within deploying windows images.
  • Experience working on rollouts including outages/upgrades.
  • Experiencing working on an on-call roster.
  • Experience in the provision of superior customer service.
  • The ability to work with all levels of staff as part of the team.
  • Willingness to travel to other offices (intra- and inter-state) to support the business (however primary location of work will be Brisbane CBD)
  • Driver's License Class C.
