The Role

The senior maintenance supervisor is responsible for managing the local maintenance staff to ensure that all roles and positions are completed to the companies high standards.

In this position you will be deemed the Maintenance and posting expert and manage these areas for the Operations Manager, ensuring that all cleaning and posting is undertaken on time and in accordance with company requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Supervising daily operational activities of Street Furniture, including Bus Shelters, Poster Bollards, Bins and Benches, ensuring quality and performance standards are always achieved and maintained
  • Ensure Street Furniture is cleaned maintained and posted in accordance with the Company specification following given instructions
  • Oversee maintenance assessments, training and re-training of all Maintenance Technician's, GSTs and maintenance co-ordinators.
  • Work with Assets Director/Manager to develop new methods of work, training programs, safe working procedures and operational procedures.
  • Ensure that for all maintenance operations costs are minimized, efficiency is maximised and also regularly reviewed.
  • Ensure the accuracy of posters and take all appropriate action if posting is incorrect
  • Organise lighting control and subsequent electrical repairs as required
  • Maintain good visibility of the advertising sites, reporting any obstruction beyond their control to the State Operations Manager and/or Senior Supervisor
  • Ensure that staff are trained and competent at all times and undertake annual competency assessments if required
  • Monitor performance of field personnel and assist with the development, coaching and mentoring wherever necessary
  • Undertake formal quality, environmental and WHS inspections in the field, in accordance with company requirements
  • Liaise with other supervisors to improve overall operational efficiency and maintain consistency
  • Maintain defined standards of employee presentation, ensuring the correct PPE is worn at all times
  • Ensure that technician's vehicles are cleaned and serviced according to specifications and in addition check technician's tools quarterly
  • Conduct weekly toolbox meetings with employees; maintain minutes and include WHS
  • Provide an enjoyable, challenging and stimulating a working environment 
Key Requirements:
  • Must have a full, clean driving
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in supervision of multi-discipline operational personnel working within an urban environment.
  • Experience of working within a street furniture environment and with local government contracts an advantage.
  • Management qualification to Cert 4 level or higher.
  • Forklift licence desired but not necessary
  • Be physically fit as working extra hours may be required
  • Computer literate (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Familiar with portable devices (mobile and tablet)
