Senior Network Engineer

Talent International is working in partnership with a large government organisation to assist in sourcing an experienced "Senior Network Engineer' primary purpose of the role is for the delivery of networking project activities ensuring optimal deployment of state-wide network infrastructure and support applications and projects, provide 3rd Line operational support and management of Network infrastructure services.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
  • Effectively manage internal and external customers to ensure continuous effective service delivery and a performance-based, innovative, responsive and accountable customer focused work culture.
  • Acting as a point of escalation for operational issues to ensure the Network infrastructure Services are available, reliable, and secure and are performing at the optimal level.
  • Assist in the implementation of best practices by sharing knowledge and providing expert advice to first and second level support teams
  • Ensure tickets (incidents, problems, requests, and changes) are resolved within the SLA defined timeframes.
  • Provide advice and knowledge to participate in the development, implementation and promotion of new initiatives, including the capability to plan, manage change and improve the performance of the teams handling of all service requests, Change orders, incidents and problems
 
Experience Required
 
  • Proven experience in infrastructure equipment project deployment and support in a large and complex/diverse service industry organisation, including relevant qualifications (CCIE/ CCNP - Wireless/ R&S/ DC/ SP) or equivalent experience. Advance knowledge of TCP/IP, MPLS, BGP, Wireless, Routing protocols, Switching technologies, Network Security, VPN technologies and data transmission security to support large-scale multi-tenancy environment
  • Well-developed analytical skills including the ability to analyse and interpret complex information from numerous sources, prepare and present analysis and reports, deal with challenges creatively and achieve business-focused solutions.
  • Proven engagement, collaboration and negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to build, maintain and use relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Proven capacity to contribute to and promote strategic initiatives, including the capability to plan, manage change, improve performance and project manage complex ICT projects
  • Willingness and ability to participate in a 24/7 support roster.
