About the Role
The position will sit within the a Transformation Program team.
The Transformation Program will transform the current team into a modern, agile and responsive service that better meets the needs of our stakeholders and is sustainable over the long term. It will improve community safety by  providing a number of enhancements, such as:
  • Providing better information to decision-makers when they need it
  • Strengthening identity proofing and resolution
  • Delivering police check certificates that are secure and trusted
  • Ensuring consistency in the delivery of the service and the product
  • Improving customer experience through an end-to-end digital service.
The senior project manager will manage projects delivery to realise agreed benefits.

 

Key Responsibilities

The key accountabilities and responsibilities include the following:
  • Lead and manage one or more projects that contributes to the agency's strategic outcomes and objectives, in accordance with corporate standards for project management and ensure projects integrate with the business
Engage with an extensive array of stakeholders on any given project, and initiate, establish and maintain strong relationships with:
  • Internal stakeholders to ensure access to resources and alignment with other interrelated projects
  • External stakeholder and business partners to ensure current and emerging needs are addressed.
  • Formally attend project and program board meetings, prepare reports, advice and recommendations for presentation at more senior governance forums
  • Develop or update business cases for large and complex projects
  • Develop and maintain an accurate project schedule and deliver products according to the schedule
  • Manage scope, quality, risk and issue management processes to ensure outcomes are delivered
  • Identify, acquire and manage project staff and provide effective direction and leadership to the project team
  • Develop and maintain the project budget, and track costs and expenditure to deliver the project within tolerances.
