Primary Purpose
The service designer will work in a multidisciplinary team to ensure the identification and prioritisation of the work that benefits users. They will facilitate the embedding and building of service design capability in teams and provide the foundations to support them across which experience working in Agile and, ideally, experience with the work. The service designer will
have extensive Commonwealth Digital Service Standard.

Key Accountabilities
  • Ability to apply strategic thinking to deliver end-to-end user experience solutions and also help define user needs to delivering concepts;
  • Experience in agile software development practices;
  • Highly skilled in producing user scenarios, service experience concepts, blueprints and detailed service design as part of a multi­disciplinary team;
  • Proven ability to exploit current and emerging trends to identify and lead improvements to existing services as well as introduce innovative and industry first service experiences;
  • Prior experience in a senior usability research role, including design of research programs, familiarity with usability research approaches, distillation and documentation of findings and proven ability to lead a usability research team;
  • Broad understanding of the technologies used in the development of contemporary web based platforms, particularly as they relate and impact on user experience;
Experience in NSW public sector is highly desirable but not mandatory.
