Our client is a global SaaS company in the animal health sector. The business is growing through acquisitions and is moving to an amazing new office!

They are looking for s Senior Software Engineer to work with a team of a Technical Director, 2 senior devs, 3 mid-level devs, 3 operations/tech analysts. They have also recently recruited a mid-level dev based in their UK office.

The role will be to actively contribute at a senior level to their core software code base, but also act in a day-to-day mentor capacity to the other developers here & the UK dev. Due to the UK timezone, there will need to be some evening hours to keep the UK dev involved, but hours can be flexible to handle this. Ability to be self-driven and work independently also required.

Ability to review requirements & contribute to design/architecture of the software is an area that will be expected. Good communication skills as regular meetings with large corporate clients may be required to update on progress. Dev skills they are looking for C#/.NET, SQL Server, Javascript/AngularJS, HTML5, WebAPI, Test Driven Development. 

Formal Qualifications

● Bachelor of Information Technology/Computer Science, or equivalent
● 6 to 8 years of industry experience, including mandatory business database applications

Skills Required

● SQL Server design, implementation and deployment
● Web development technologies (ie HTML, Javascript, TypeScript, AngularJS)
● Server-side development technologies (ie C#, .NET Framework, Web API)
● Test-Driven Development (TDD)
● Azure or AWS familiarity of key concepts and technologies
● Agile development methodologies, specifically Scrum and Kanban
● Ability to create an optimal implementation of user stories and features

General Responsibilities

● Development and maintenance of the application code base
● Implementation of user stories based on both internal and external stakeholders
● Design and implementation of enhancements based on iteration and feedback
● Automation of all aspects of development and deployment pipeline
● Maintenance of source code control library to ensure consistent and error-free code

Mentoring Responsibilities

● Provide guidance and technical leadership for other development team members
● Research methods, frameworks and techniques to improve development efficiency and
● Champion/advocate for TDD and testing activities

Key Performance Indicators

● Ability to design and implement new 'framework' areas for application
● Ability to product best-practise code that can be utilised and templated across
development team
● Ability to follow design specifications to produce high-quality working deliverables
● Ability to apply TDD principles to produce code with a very low error-rate
● Implement bug-fixes across a wide surface area of the application
