We are seeking an experienced Senior System Engineer to manage the Department's infrastructure to meet current and future requirements including the maintenance of Windows and SQL servers, VMWare, storage, SoE, back-up and restoration procedures and scripting.

  • HIGH LEVEL CLEARANCE REQUIRED
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the Department's infrastructure to meet current and future requirements including the maintenance of Windows and SQL servers, VMWare, storage, SoE, back-up and restoration procedures and scripting.
  • Installation, deployment, and maintenance of hardware, operating systems, middleware and software.
  • Installation of software releases, performing system upgrades, evaluating and installing patches and resolving software related problems.
  • Maintaining data files and monitoring system configuration to ensure data integrity.
  • Disaster recovery planning, documentation and testing
  • Comply with relevant policies and procedures and maintain documentation for systems
  • Monitor and report and system availability and utilisation.
  • Liaise with developers, technical team members, project managers and end users to provide support and troubleshooting assistance when required.
  • Reasonable after hours, holiday and weekend support work.
  • Experience with working in agile teams desired, but not mandatory.
 
Skills:
  • Demonstrated experience in ICT infrastructure management including Windows and SQL servers, VMWare, storage, SoE, back-up and restoration procedures and scripting.
  • Demonstrated experience in installing, deploying and maintenance of hardware, operating systems, middleware and software.
  • Demonstrated experience in monitoring including system availability and utilisation.
  • Demonstrated experience in disaster recovery planning and documentation.
  • Demonstrated experience in producing system design documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a tight-knit Agile project team that includes technical staff and stakeholders
 
It is a requirement of this position that the successful candidate must be an Australian Citizen and hold a current NV1 security clearance.
