Service Designer

Our client is a large and innovative government agency dedicated to uplifting digital capability within the Federal Government. Working with our client, you will have the opportunity to work on large-scale, cross-agency ICT projects which will improve the delivery of government online services for Australians.


About the Role

We are looking for service designers with a creative mindset who are able to utilise design standards and best practices to help others see problems from a different perspective and balance customer empathy and creative skill with government awareness.


Key Responsibilities

As a Service Designer, you are frequently refining and applying service design methods to get the best outcome for end users and will be responsible for strategising and defining an efficient and user-centred service experience. You will be helping government do the hard work to radically improve government information and services.

You will have extensive experience working in Agile and, ideally, experience with the Commonwealth Digital Service Standard. You are familiar with leading contextual user research, as well as leading workshops, idea generation, design strategy and blueprinting service solutions to name a few.


Key Skills & Experience
  • Extensive experience in the design of digital services for large organisations and government
  • Demonstrable experience working in a User Centred Design environment
  • Demonstrated experience mapping complex service environments both as is and future state based on insights from user research
  • Demonstrated experience of producing user scenarios, service experience concepts, blueprints and detailed service design
  • Demonstrated experience planning, conducting, analysing and making recommendations on emerging trends to identify and lead improvements to existing services as well as introduce innovative and industry first service experiences.
  • Demonstrated experience working on operational services
