Working with government agencies in Australia and around the world, the department is the lead agency in ensuring the global stability and economic growth of Australia.

About the Role
Our large government client requires the services of experienced, technically skilled and improvement focused Software Asset Management Specialist to support and manage the current and future software assets of the department.

In This Role, You Will;
  • Provide on demand assistance for day to day SAM related tasks and queries from business users, IT staff and management.
  • Provide software licence management, including identification, allocation, harvesting, reallocation, compliance verification and auditing of a range of different software products and licences used within the department.
  • Assist with planning and costing operations and negotiation of contracts (including terms and conditions) for software and related assets and services.
  • Analyse and advise on best practices, industry trends and opportunities to gain additional value from new and existing contracts and license entitlements.
  • Provide advice on the software used on all platforms and opportunities to gain additional value from software consolidation.
  • Analyse the current software and licence estate to establish a baseline and Software Asset Register (SAR).
  • Perform periodic reviews, compliance & health checks of the SAR with recommendations for further optimisation of the current license estate.
  • Implement a strategy to strengthen the overall SAM maturity and streamline software related policies, processes and procedures.
