Our client is a dynamic health service provider that operates in an environment where quality patient care is paramount. Their vision, as a health service, is to provide health and wellbeing through exceptional care.

As the solution architect you will assist in the successful delivery of a range of projects supporting the replacement of an existing Laboratory Information System with a commercial off the shelf solution, which will support pathology, forensic and scientific services, public and environmental health and revenue services to reduce the cost to serve. This is a senior role which will involve close collaboration with the Solution Owner, Project Managers and other Solution Architects, requiring daily interaction with vendor resources and other application teams. This role will also ensure effective communication across individual projects within the LIS Project and will support the transition planning, design and documentation activities related to the current and future state of Laboratory Information System.

Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to defined service quality standards, health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
  • Deliver project solution design artefacts (i.e. products) to support the overall solution design and implementation requirements in alignment with Enterprise Architecture standards and principles.
  • Demonstrated experience in large project environments supporting the delivery of complex solutions.
  • Participate as an active member of the LIS Solution Delivery Team, contributing to strategic and operational decision making.
  • Engage closely with both technical and business stakeholders to ensure dependencies and impacts of the LIS Solution are clearly understood.
  • Ÿ Contribute to the solution delivery of the application partner Sunquest and its subcontractor Powerhealth and internal delivery partners to ensure a quality LIS Solution delivery.
  • Ÿ Work with the Solution Owner, Senior Project Managers, OCM Manager, Stakeholder Engagement Specialist and Test Manager to ensure customer needs and required functionality are defined early in the development cycle, including documenting requirements, trade-off analysis proceeding with design synthesis and system validation.
  • Constrain design and solution options based on funding and schedule requirements and ensure any supplier deliverables meets expectations and are fit for purpose.
  • Identify project dependencies and produce solution designs that ensure effective integration between business, information, integration, identity, application and technology elements of solutions
  • Ensure documents dealing with elements of design e.g. sourcing papers, integration diagrams, master test strategies, are executable, auditable and traceable to specific requirements and design decisions.
  • Take proactive steps to identify and minimise solution design and delivery related issues, risks and costs whilst optimising benefits.
Requirements:
  • Ability to work across multiple architecture layers in a highly integrated and complex environment
  • Experience in identifying and addressing data/information flows from the application layer to the integration layer to formulate and support master data management practices
  • Experience in capturing and assessing the impact of multiple configuration items across several solution components to Business, Information, Data, Application and Integration layers
  • Ability to translate business requirements, processes and workflows into information and data models
  • Team player with good communication skills, capable of fast knowledge sharing/transfer to expedite deliverables
  • Experience in writing detailed designs and as-built architecture documents.
  • Ability to contribute to the planning and prioritisation of architecture deliverables in alignment with multiple project streams timelines and priorities.
