The SQL Systems Developer will interact regularly with internal and external business clients to capture and understand reporting and data service requests, will help define and clarify requirements, define and propose appropriate solutions and provide guidance for development of the reporting solution with the assistance of a development team. Also, the System Developer SQL will develop reports as per the defined development methodologies.

Mining or manufacturing industries experience will be a differencial for this role!

Within the current pipeline of demand and projects SQL development will be required in:
  • SSRS Reporting;
  • Power BI Reporting; and
  • Data Warehousing.
  • Analysis of requirements for software projects - 40%
    • Work with the business teams to review, understand and prioritize reporting and data requests;
    • Analyse reporting and data requests from the business, gather requirements and define detailed technical specifications for reports;
    • Analyse data and data requirements using complex SQL queries;
    • Ensure data quality and match-back to core systems transaction results; 
  • SQL/Report Development - 40%
    • Develop reporting and data solutions following Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology;
    • Identify opportunities for self-service reporting and educate the business on self-service reporting capabilities;
    • Perform quality review (QA) of new and existing reporting solutions;
    • Coordinate end user review and acceptance (UAT) of the developed solutions; and
    • Support IT goals and objectives by working closely with management team to deliver value to the business. 
  • Documentation, and transition to support of  and standards - 15%
  • Maintain documentation of reporting solutions, data mapping, data dictionary, and reporting standards;
  • Development of Administrative Documentation including 'As Built'; and
  • End User Documentation.
  • Administrative duties - 5%
    • Time sheeting and safety training as required.
