A large player in the health industry are currently undergoing a large transformation and as a result, have released a Head of Vendor Managers position. 
This role is responsible for the management (contract, performance, relationship, and risk) of all vendors associated with this organisation. 

Some of your key responsibilities will include:
  • Build true partnerships with chosen vendors- Deliver value to the end to end process. For example the impact on existing customers
  • Leadership and management- Provide leadership and set the strategic direction ensuring strategic objectives are aligned
  • Partner Management- Act as the primary partnership manager of the Managed Services Partner as well as create strategic partnerships by being a key influencer within the organisation 
  • Act as a point of escalation for vendor issues 
  • Value-add and innovation- Oversee and measure the fulfillment of contractual and value-add obligations 
  • Governance- Manage partner governance at the executive and senior management levels 
  • Partner with other areas of the business and report on vendor financial viability
In this role, you will have up to 5 direct reports at any one time. This will include vendor managers and administration staff. Along with this, you will need to maintain key internal and external relationships. To be successful in this role, you will need the following experience: 
  • Proven experience in successfully leading a team in the management of vendors including, but not limited to, policies, performance, vendor risk and dispute resolution 
  • Demonstrated track record of creating value for an organisation through partnerships/vendors
  • Knowledge of best practice vendor management methods
  • Understanding the entire vendor lifecycle 
  • Knowledge of relevant legislative and regulatory requirements 
  • Solid grasp of financial concepts 
As well as the above, you will need to be commercially savvy, experienced at leading high performing teams and have exceptional communication skills. You will be providing leadership and direction to a team of vendor managers so you will have key leadership responsibilities.
