We are seeking System Administrator/Network Technicians to engage in long term contract roles with possible extensions. You will develop, support, manage and sustain specialised internal networks. This role will be responsible for supporting internal networks and capabilities including virtualisation and security.

The role includes a number of supporting tasks (on an as required basis) such as: facility maintenance and general administration.

The successful candidate will need highly evolved System Administrator/Network Technician skills and a proven ability to work within an integrated team of technical/non-technical personnel.

Must currently hold or have held a TSPV security clearance within the last 12 months.

Government department based in Canberra!

Functions of the role will include:
  • Perform various system administration, virtualisation and security tasks (FreeIPA, LDAP, Ansible)
  • Maintain, manage and sustain internal networks (VLANs, PKI, Account Management.)
  • Maintain, manage and sustain building facilities (logging problems, tracking issues, etc.).
  • Compile and maintain  supporting system documentation, including documentation of own work undertaken (Confluence, Gliffy)

Our Expectations:
  • Demonstrable strong experience in Linux System Administration (RHEL).
  • Demonstrable strong experience in Virtualisation and Containerisation including: VMWare ESXi, Docker
  • A proven ability to liaise with technical staff on complex technical issues and processes.
  • An understanding of ASD work practices and procedures.
  • Current TSPV security clearance
