Systems Administrators - Lync and Exchange/Messaging 

An industry leader is seeking the services of highly skilled and experienced system administrators to engage in permanent roles based in Canberra. You will be required to support an extensive messaging environment, and work with business technology groups to administer, support and manage existing messaging infrastructure deployments and functions.

Specific Functions Include:
  • Maintenance and enhancement of current infrastructure, evaluating new technologies and making/ implementing to improve operational efficiencies
  • Managing problems and requests in line with the framework by utilising customised in-house toolsets
  • Providing a minimum of tier 3 infrastructure and application support
  • Project implementation and working with both the business IT teams & subject matter experts
  • Developing and deploying solutions as part of projects or initiatives according to organisation standards
  • Producing and maintaining technical system documentation
  • Typical projects are around business related initiatives and to a lesser degree, IT risk process and control, standards integration in order to maintain currency and compliance of all server infrastructure
  • Other duties as required.
Applicant Criteria:
  • Bachelor Degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with professional experience; or experience with a related Master's degree.
  • Solid experience inmessaging solutions, design and support in a medium-to-large scale environment
  • Comparable experience of administering a multi-domain/ Messaging server environment over a wide area TCP/IP network
  • Well-established history of success with operational support, complemented with technical project involvement in this area
  • Demonstrated experience leading Root-Cause Analysis efforts
Skills and abilities
  • Microsoft Exchange 2003, 2007, 2010, 2013
  • Lotus Domino Server experience desirable
  • Lync messaging solutions experience desirable
  • Powershell and VB scripting desirable
  • Knowledge of Windows Active Directory and other related technologies such as WINS, DHCP, DNS, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across all levels
  • Ability to work in a team or autonomously in a professional environment
  • Be analytical; good interpersonal and English communication skills are essential; must work well with a team Intermediate problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues
  • Intermediate level customer service skills
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Willing to be on-call and perform weekend work as required
  • Some infrequent travel may be required to support data centre operations
