The Technical Writer is responsible for development, drafting and publication of project methodology tools, documents and material reflecting best practice for major infrastructure project management methodologies.
Key Accountabilities
  • Continue the management's creation of an impetus for change through the provision of technical services supporting the customer focused change strategies, programs and initiatives.
  • Interpret information from a number of sources including policies, processes, procedure documentation, and knowledge from subject matter experts (SMEs) and turn them into simple but meaningful self-service customer facing material utilising simple precise and relevant language.
  • Source information to ensure material is complete and correct, and connect processes and similar subjects as well as identify gaps in knowledge or inconsistencies.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of management systems, initiatives, innovation and use of technology to promote efficient and effective work practices.
  • Develop, improve and manage the Project Services Intranet site and knowledge tools to provide program and project support through the availability of tools and capturing of corporate knowledge and lessons learnt for dissemination to program offices and projects.
  • Deliver high level customer service to intranet users and key stakeholders and communicate information changes and improvements across the portfolio to facilitate the dissemination of best practice across the project management discipline
Selection Criteria
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent, relevant professional experience.
  • High level skills and experience in technical writing and business process writing or instructional design for business management, business improvement or assurance processes within the public sector or a medium to large organisation.
  • Demonstrated strong project planning and management skills and experience ensuring that deliverables meet client requirements.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with document management, content creation and web publishing tools and ability to use them for effective knowledge management.
  • Demonstrated ability to  communicate concepts and business processes using different mediums including web pages, documents (word, excel and pdf) and images
