Telecommunications Project Manager
Location: Auburn
Duration: 12 Months Contract

Talent International is working in partnership with a large government organisation to assist in sourcing an experienced 'Project Manager'.
Key Requirements:
  • Prepare design briefs so that Engineering personnel can be engaged to manage the design component of projects
  • Manage assigned projects from inception to completion within time and budget constraints, ensuring work is completed to an acceptable standard;
  • Conduct a risk assessment for each project and take appropriate measures to mitigate  any identified risks, include risks and scope with Project Management Plan;
  • Manage customer expectations regarding deliverables by preparing a project plan prior to each project and by providing regular feedback through meetings, etc. to assist in ensuring that these expectation are realised;
  • Co-ordinate Q&A and final acceptance tests prior to handing over projects to the appropriate operational group within the organisation and/or client;
  • Prepare costing and quoting for service requests with the assistance from key Subject Matter Experts with the ability to negotiate in line with the business model.
  • Liaise with Strategic Procurement & Contracts to ensure the procurement process is adhered to.
  • Coach/Train apprentices/interns or graduates assigned to the team and provide performance reports to the co-ordinator when required.
Key Criteria:
  • Hold Tertiary qualifications (minimum Diploma) in Project Management or Engineering discipline, and/or demonstrated experience in the delivery of Telecommunications, Condition Monitoring, Electronic Surveillance  or IT Industry projects from inception to completion;
  • Telecommunications, Condition Monitoring, Electronic Surveillance  or IT Industry experience preferably as they relate to the rail industry;
  • Experience in document and specification preparation, to contribute to the tendering process, including costing projects and preparing budgets.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience in managing and delivery of single and multi-disciplined medium complexity projects;
  • Developed high level communications (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills with developed client relationship and negotiation skills for the capacity to influence stakeholders.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience in Project Management Methodologies, such as 'PMBok' or 'Prince' principals, or similar;
  • High level conceptual, research, planning, analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to apply them in the management of technology-driven projects with proficiency in the use of computer software packages, including Microsoft Project, Word, Excel and Visio.
