This large Government Department based in Brisbane's CBD is currently looking for an experienced Automation tester with 5+years of experience. In this role you will be performing testing tasks for a volume of ICT projects. The successful candidate will be a team player who's able to effectively communicate, lead and liaise with the Test Manager and Project Manager, as well as other team members. You will also be able to adapt and work within both Waterfall and Agile project environments.


The successful candidate will be able to perform the following tasks:
  • Work collaboratively with the Program Test Manager to establish a Test Automation Framework
  • Develop Automated tests using market leading toolsets such as Selenium, Ranorek, UFT
  • Review and provide input to business requirements documentation.
  • Prepare test cases from complex business requirements documentation.
  • Execute test cases and record results
  • Utilisation of contemporary testing toolsets and understanding of testing methodologies
  • Perform system, integration, load and performance test execution.
  • Raise defects arising from the test planning and test execution phase.
  • Provision of input to all testing estimates.
  • Provision of input to the master test plan.
  • Prepare weekly status reports.
  • Re-test all fixed defects.
  • Participate in the change request process.
In addition to:
  • Review and agree testing estimates with the Test Manager or Project Manager.
  • Escalate all issues and risks through the appropriate channels
  • Negotiate successful outcomes with internal and external customers
  • Assist other team members to complete system integration and regression testing and associated activities within established frameworks, strategies, standards, methodologies and policies.
  • Collaborate with other teams and external stakeholders as required to undertake timely preparation for testing,
  • issue and defect resolution to enable test execution deadlines to be met to ensure timely release of functionality for the benefit of the department's clients.
  • Apply experience of contemporary testing approaches and methodologies, ideally within a government environment.
