This is an opportunity for a Hands-On Test Manager to join a large financial services organisation currently under-going a large claims transformation. This role wil be an initial 6 month contract based in the CBD with an asap start. The Claims Transformation Program will transform how the organisation's claims business operates and genuinely improve customer experience and employee engagement. The program will bring significant changes to the claims teams' ways of working, mindsets, culture, structure, processes and enabling technology and is anticipated to run for a period of two years.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Has single point of accountability for defining, implementing and promoting standard test processes, tools, methodologies to be applied
  • Manage and provide leadership to ensure the end to end testing effort is delivered on time, in full and to quality
  • Report and track the estimates, schedule, plan and resources for the testing phase(s), negotiating conflicting priorities
  • Measure, report and manage defects, progress and test results throughout all phases of the testing cycle
  • Actively utilise and promote testing principles and disciplines to minimise rework, ensure entry and exit criteria are appropriate, and issues are managed in the appropriate stage of testing
  • Ensure test environments are properly established and managed to control and monitor end-to-end testing of applications and infrastructure components and that they are stable and a data management plan is delivered
  • Develop test plans, test scenarios, and test cases; execution of test cases; and documentation of test results
  • Evaluate potential Epics and User Stories in the Backlog of upcoming sprints to understand User Acceptance Testing (UAT) requirements
  • Identify UAT interdependencies between upcoming Epics, Features and Stories and course correct as needed to ensure the test plan is optimized to meet the overall vision and roadmap
  • Inform stakeholder groups on all planned and in-flight efforts to gain insights from the continuous feedback loop
  • Review Agile team metrics for new trends/issues and review status updates of current issues

Attributes Required
 
  • Experienced Test lead of 'end to end' test execution
  • Experience in delivering a web based tool with heavy business usage and multiple users (i.e. something similar to CV, a CRMS)
  • Strong in test strategy and planning i.e. what will be the best approach for our situation, Formulating and implementing E2E Testing strategies
  • Strong in defect management, triaging and results reporting
  • Experience of managing testing via JIRA highly desirable
  • Experience in AGILE highly desirable
  • Ability to be 'Hands On' to ensure execution of testing is timely & of quality 'as and when required'
  • Ability to manage others through the execution process (BA's, SME's, the Business, etc.)
  • Understanding of Test Automation
  • Demonstrable experience in managing resources (allocation, monitoring, motivating etc.)
  • Preparation / review of test plans, reports, etc.
  • Standards of excellence and high work ethic
  • Pragmatic approach with excellent problem solving and structured thinking skills
  • Openness, flexibilityProfessional and emotional maturity
